A Volksfest in the heart of the city

After four years, the time had come again - the Historical Folk Festival once more invited visitors to the center of the Schlossplatz from September 24 to October 3, 2022. Traditional fairground attractions, jugglers and artists, historical craftsmanship, music and traditional costume groups, the traditional tent and much more - around 400,000 visitors experienced the magical atmosphere in the heart of Stuttgart.

The Historical Folk Festival is more than just an eventful journey into the past. It keeps the history of the "Landwirthschaftliche Fest zu Kannstadt" alive. This tradition, which began in 1818, continues today with the Cannstatt Folk Festival and the Main Agricultural Festival.

It will still take a while, but we are already looking to the future with anticipation: because in the fall of 2026, the Historic Folk Festival will once again open its doors and transform Stuttgart's Schlossplatz into a nostalgic and colorful fair.
